If you're planning to sell your home over the next few months, you'll probably be taking advantage of the warmer weather to add some curb appeal to your property. If you're taking on some spring landscaping, avoid these mistakes that will make your home harder to sell.
No plan: planting a garden or landscaping without a plan will look messy when it comes time for completion. Even a simple plan is better than no plan at all.
Clutter: planting in clusters does look better than planting single plants or flowers around a yard, but ensure that you leave ample room for trees or shrubs to grow within the clusters.
No variety: try to mix a variety of different plants and flowers in each area so you don't have too much of the same. Different colours, levels and textures are things to keep in mind.
Dead plants: dead plants, trees and shrubs are a serious eyesore in your yard, get rid of those early on before you start planting.
Overgrown weeds: take control of your weeds and stay on top of your grass maintenance.
When doing your landscaping, just remember that your yard is the first thing potential homebuyers will see when they pull up to your property. Clean yards make a very good impression.
