Calgary is still in a marketplace that favours sellers, in fact, home sellers are selling their homes over list price in most situations. It's definitely a great time to list your home.
The real estate market continues to heat up in our city, and it's driving multiple offers to come in on properties, as inventory remains lower than average.
According to CREB, last April 265 of 2,544 properties were sold over listing price; this April, 529 of the 2,377 properties were sold over listing price.
CREB President Bill Kirk says this trend comes from a shortage of single-family homes and inner-city development driving up land prices in those communities. Once more homes come onto the market, the real estate conditions will likely cool down and even out more between buyer and seller.
