The City of Calgary is currently in Phase 6 (reporting and competion) of the Crowchild Trail Study, and final input is being sought by Calgarians, online until December 19th.
The Crowchild Trail Study is a transportation study identifying and recommending upgrades for Crowchild Trail between 24 Avenue NW and 17 Avenue SW. The recommendations from this study are intended to address issues and challenges the roadway currently faces with the continued growth of Calgary.
A look at the current recommendations:
- Widening the Bow River Bridge to accomodate an additional lane in each directon (this could be completed as early as end of 2018).
- Install Pedestrian only crossing of Parkdale Boulevard at Kensington Road.
- Northbound left turn restriction at 24 Avenue NW.
- Construct new ramp to connect westbound 16 Avenue to Northbound Crowchild Trail.
