Calgary boasts over 10,000 hectares of parkland and 700 kilometres of pathways for its residents to enjoy. Now that Spring is finally here, City of Calgary parks are sure to get busier with cyclists, runners and dog walkers. To ensure you enjoy the best experience (and avoid possible fines) know the bylaws put in place for Calgary parks.

Overview:

• Stay on designated trails
• Don't litter
• Don't disturb or feed wildlife
• Don't use motorized vehicles (exception of wheelchairs)
• Obey all signage

• Stay on right side of pathways, except when passing

Cycling/Rollerblading:

• Speed limit is 20 km/hour (unless otherwise posted)
• When on a bicycle, use bell or whistle when passing
• Bicycles must be equipped with reflectors
• Youth under 18 must wear a helmet

Trees and plants:

• It is illegal to prune or remove City trees/plants
• Leave the park the way you found it

Dogs:

• All dogs must be on a leash (unless in designated off-leash area)
• Remove your dog's waste
• You cannot cycle or skate on a pathway with a leashed dog
