To commemorate the one-year anniversary of our city's flood, the City of Calgary is promoting Neighbour Day on June 21st. The purpose of Neighbour Day is to have Calgarians take part in community events initiated by themselves or their community associations.
A number of community associations have already planned neighbourhood get-togethers for June 21st, such as BBQs, block parties, etc. A website has been setup to share all of the community Neighbour Day events already planned, see it at YYCShares.
If you want to plan your own Neighbour Day event, the City of Calgary is waiving permit fees for block parties and park avenues for events on June 21st. Applications must be in by Friday, June 13th, so get your submissions in online.
